The AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando are off to a newsworthy start. JJ Williams, who is associated with The Wrestling Observer, is in attendance for some All Elite studio wrestling and documented several names that have competed on the card so far. Two recently released stars from WWE happen to be “The Alternative” Anthony Greene (formerly August Grey in NXT) and Stallion Rogers (formerly Curt Stallion) who appear to have competed in tag action on the program.

Another talent that independent wrestling fans have been very familiar with is Allie Katch (formerly Allie Kat) as she competed in singles competition against Big Swole.

There’s always buzz when AEW brings in notable independent talent on their Dark and Dark Elevation cards. Just this week during the Dark Elevation tapings in Cincinnati, Lee Moriarty was offered an AEW contract. It’s been a tendency of AEW to invite local indy talent of the area to compete on their cards in an effort assess talent and in turn, build the star’s name value. Both Stallion Rogers and Anthony Greene were released by WWE with a wave of talent on June 25.
