Cody Rhodes is coming back to AEW to deal with Malakai Black.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw the announcement that Cody Rhodes will finally make his return to television in two weeks at AEW’s “Grand Slam” debut in New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium. Not only will he return to settle the score with Malakai Black, but he’ll be making his first appearance in over a month.
Cody Rhodes has been absent from All Elite Wrestling television since the August 4th ‘Homecoming’ episode of Dynamite, where he lost in quick fashion to Malakai Black, who attacked him after the bell.
Since then, Malakai Black has been targeting other members of the Nightmare Family in Cody’s absence, and has now picked up victories over Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson, as well as Dustin Rhodes on this week’s show. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net first reported Cody Rhodes would return to TV this month and said there are “big plans” for him upon his return.
