Miranda Alize has officially punched her ticket to the finals of the ROH Women’s Championship Tournament, which will be held at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
During an appearance on the ROHStrong Podcast, Alize reflected on this accomplishment and shared her belief that, unlike some of her fellow participants, she doesn’t need to prove herself, and that’s what sets her aprt.
“I don’t think I have anything to prove,” said Alize. “I think that’s what sets me apart from everybody else, literally everybody. I mean I’ve watched, obviously, I’ve watched all of my opponents, and I think all the fans have watched also, literally every single girl that talks about this tournament, they all have to prove something, everybody said it. Quinn McKay says it all the time, she has to prove to herself. Chelsea Green said it on her debut in Ring of Honor, she has to prove to herself, she has to prove to the fans. Nicole Savoy said it, Rok-C says it. Everybody has to prove themselves. I don’t have to prove myself to anybody.
To elaborate, Alize stated that this mindset led her to the finals of the tournament because she’s secure in the knowledge of her abilities. She then admitted that while she doesn’t get a lot of “love” from the fans, she supports herself, and her success makes it all worth it.
“I think that’s why I’m in the finals,” said Alize. “It just is what it is. I don’t have to prove myself to anybody. I know my abilities, I know how good I am, and I proved this to myself a long time ago, so I’m so past that stage, and that’s why I’m where I’m at. And that’s why other people are where they’re at.
“Yeah, I don’t get a lot of love from the fans, I don’t get a love of love from the wrestling community, but that’s okay. I mean, I have myself. I’m my own support system, I clap myself on the back, and I’m not a follower. I’m a leader, so I’m okay with that.”
