Shotzi Blackheart Says She Meant No Offense With Tweet About Chris Jericho’s Blood & Guts Bump

Shotzi Blackheart says people need to take a joke, and just laugh and move on.

Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox recently spoke with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, and Shotzi was asked about her infamous GIF Tweet that drew the ire of Chris Jericho. Fans may remember that Jericho’s bump off of the cage to end the Blood & Guts match was met with a polarizing response, mostly due to being able to see crash pads on the screen. At the time, Shotzi posted a GIF of someone falling on a bed and pillows and intended it to be a simple joke, but many took it as a not-so-subtle dig at the wrestling legend.

Jericho responded on an episode of his Saturday Night Special show and took issue with performers mocking each other in those circumstances, noting that a spot like the one he took was a risk and shouldn’t be mocked.

“Anybody that bags on somebody who’s taking a chance and putting their bodies on the line can really f-ck off, especially people in the business. I could say some names. There’s a couple of chicks in WWE who said some stuff, and they probably should not have said that. They probably weren’t trained any better, and in 6 months they’ll probably be asking us for a job anyways and I’ll remember that,” Jericho said at the time, “so we’ll leave it at that.”

Now, McCarthy asked Shotzi if she was surprised by the reaction her post received, and she said that it was just a joke and everyone should move on.

“I meant no offense to Chris Jericho. I thought, honestly, the match was great. But, you know what… like, take a joke, Take a joke, bud! [laughs]. It’s just a GIF,” she stated. “Laugh at it and move on. It’s live TV. Things happen, it’s pro wrestling. Don’t take life too seriously is all I have to say.”
