There’s a level of dominance needed if someone is to be added to what Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez have going on over on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
The WWE Intercontinental Champion recently appeared on the Yak Channel podcast and described what it would take for him to consider adding to his stable over on the blue brand.
“You have to meet a certain standard if you want to be a part of what is going on over here,” said Crews. “Azeez, he definitely meets that standard. He gave me the assist at wrestle mania, but like I said, a win is a win. So I’m happy, I like Commander Azeez. Maybe just the two of us. I know sometimes three can be too much, three can be company, two is a party but the thing is, what we have going on right now is good. I don’t want anything to come in there and disrupt that or kind of throw off the chemistry of what we’ve got going on. I will leave it open. Potentially there could be room for another one, but right now I’m not worried about it.
Crews would then delve into what it’s been like to embrace his Nigerian roots and why he believed it’s immensely helped his career.
“It’s the best decision I’ve made,” said Crews. “For me, before, I would be on TV, I would be off TV, [I was doing] random things, nothing very consistent. That same year, I was on WrestleMania in a singles match with Big E for the Intercontinental Title. I went on to win, which is easily the biggest moment of my career. This year has been the best year of my WWE career so far, and I’m really enjoying what I’m doing.”
