Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, is often called the face of Tony Khan’s promotion. It’s fair to argue that she has become one of the brightest stars in the wrestling industry, and it’s just as fair to assume that most promotions would like to work with Baker if they got the chance.
For example, with Mickie James at the helm as the executive producer, the National Wrestling Alliance will present “Empowerrr”, an all-women’s show, next month. Many fans have wondered whether “The Doctor” will compete at the event, given the past collaboration between AEW and NWA. But in an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Baker acknowledged that the NWA might be interested in her, but that doesn’t mean she’ll make an appearance at the promotion’s all-women’s pay-per-view.
“They’re obviously interested in me because everybody is interested in me,” said Baker. “I’m the most talked about wrestler in all of women’s wrestling right now.
“Are they going to want me? Yes. Does that mean they can have me? No. Not everyone can just have the D.M.D because they want me, it’s not a free-for-all. We’ll have to see.”
In addition to her exemplary in-ring skill, Baker has rapidly gained popularity due to her remarkable character work as a top heel in AEW. In the interview, Baker credited Rebel and Tony Schiavone as vital complements to her character and expressed her gratitude for their contributions.
“Me, Rebel and Tony Schiavone are like the three amigos in a way,” said Baker. “Reba is the best accent piece to my character imaginable.
“I can’t speak enough about them, because I wouldn’t be Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D without them. They are a part of me and everything I do.”
