When you think about Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher, you think of hard-hitting offense, but MSK withstood this force to retain their NXT Tag Team Titles at Great American Bash.
The Capitol Wrestling Center was split in the evening’s opener as the two teams took their turns at showcasing their in-ring prowess. The champions and their challengers kept one-upping one another in what turned into a chess game of a battle. Joint manipulation and heavy forearms were Thatcher and Ciampa’s expertise as it was Thatcher who became the first to show his dominance. MSK certainly played the underdogs in the bout, as the two veterans controlled the first act of the match. But a variety of kicks allowed MSK to gain some momentum.

Ciampa may have been the true show-stealer of the match, as he had a beautiful sequence of offensive attacks, but he had to be saved by Thatcher midway through the contest. The challengers nearly got the submission finish until Ciampa was forced to collide with Thatcher. This collision allowed MSK to get the cradle pin on Thatcher to win the bout, Broadcaster Vic Joseph hammered home that respect was earned tonight for MSK due to this impressive victory.
No one, especially Timothy Thatcher, saw that ending coming.
With a quick roll up, @NashCarterWWE & @WesLee_WWE retain their #WWENXT #TagTeamTitles against @NXTCiampa & Thatcher in a mind-boggling bout! #AndStill #NXTGAB pic.twitter.com/v6sj3rKROI
