Vita VonStarr’s ROH Ticket To Gold Revoked; VonStarr And Quinn McKay Comment

There has been a change made to the upcoming ROH Women’s Championship Tournament, but who will step in to take the vacant spot?

One the latest episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling, Matt Taven took on The Righteous’ Dutch in a one-on-one matchup, but the match didn’t go quite as planned. Ring of Honor released the following statement regarding the match and the ramifications following the interference of Vita VonStarr:

“When ROH Board of Directors member Maria Kanellis-Bennett gave Vita VonStarr of The Righteous a ticket to gold for the ROH Women’s World Title Tournament a few weeks ago, it came with a condition: If VonStarr interfered in any of the men’s matches, she would lose her spot.

Either VonStarr just couldn’t help herself or perhaps she was blindly following orders from Righteous leader Vincent, but she unleashed an unprovoked attack on Matt Taven during his match against The Righteous’ Dutch on the latest episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling.

Kanellis-Bennett immediately came out and informed VonStarr that she was out of the tournament.

Ever since VonStarr showed up in ROH as one of Vincent’s followers a year and a half ago, she has interfered in matches involving her fellow Righteous members, usually when they were facing Taven and/or Mike Bennett.”

As a result of VonStarr’s attack on Taven, her Ticket To Gold has been officially revoked, and subsequently, she is out of ROH’s Women’s Championship Tournament. VonStarr has since issued the following comments in response to her dismissal from the tournament:

“We’re in total control man. I like to do things by unconventional means. There’s more than one way to become champion, ya dig what I’m sayin’?”

Who will take her place? Nothing has been made official yet, but Quinn McKay is one competitor that’s throwing her hat into the ring for another shot at the Women’s Tournament.

McKay previously faced off with Angelina Love in May with a potential spot in the tournament on the line. Love ultimately won the match, taking advantage of a distraction by Mandy Leon to pick up the win (and a first-round bye) in the process.

WrestleZone will keep you updated as new developments come in regarding VonStarr’s replacement.
