Game Changer Wrestling World Champion Nick Gage is one of the most infamous deathmatch wrestlers of all time but as it turns out, he used to love technical wrestling too.
During an appearance on NotSam Wrestling, Gage looked back on his life and his career, and, when asked, he recalled how he was a big fan of more traditional wrestling in his younger days. In fact, he wrote a book report about Bret Hart‘s in-ring style.
“Oh absolutely,” said Gage. “Super J-Cup, all that stuff, man just loved it, you know what I mean. Loved Bret Hart, you know. When I was in like 12th grade, I did like a book report on Bret Hart, and I literally busted down everything about him and why he does this, that, and this and all that.”
During the interview, Gage also described how GCW has a lot of momentum right now, as the promotion has been generating buzz lately. Gage’s feud with Matt Cardona (formerly known as WWE star Zack Ryder) and his confrontations with Jon Moxley have shined a spotlight on the promotion, but Gage noted that the promotion has a great overall roster.
“I want to have an awesome match, and I want to tear that sh-t up, and I want the fans to go home f-ckin’ happy and freaking out,” said Gage. “And I think that’s why we’re f-ckin’ on fire right now. I think that’s why GCW is on fire right now. We have a great locker room. We have a great group of guys who just go out there and give you 110% every time.”
