Toni Storm looks back in form after handing newcomer Zoey Stark a loss to kick off this week’s episode of NXT.
Stark looked ever intense as she stepped foot unto the canvas and Beth Phoenix said it best as Storm had a “smart look” on her face. She slapped Stark and Zoey made her pay with some strikes and an outside dive. Zoey follows that up with a big league missile dropkick, but Storm regains control with a trip-up on the apron before sending her into the steel steps.
Stark tries to battle back but, Storm keeps control of the bout for several minutes. She soon goes for several European uppercuts, but a backslide turns the tide for Zoey who then follows up with an enziguri. Stark continues the assault through the break with a solid kick in the corner and following up with a low lariat on the ground.
Some very near falls occur for Zoey on several occasions, but it’s not enough to keep Storm down. She hits a big time German and then hits her sit-out powerbomb, but Stark one way or another kicks out.
Storm finishes Stark off with a very innovative reverse hip-toss into DDT combo.
Post-bout, Franky Monet sauntered out on stage to stare down Storm after she stood tall against Stark.
