Tony Schiavone was real happy for All Elite Wrestling after the company swept (like Kenny Omega with a broom) during this year’s Wrestling Observer Awards, but there were a few particular names he was very proud of.
Tony was shooting the breeze with Conrad Thompson on the latest episode of What Happened When as Conrad conjured up the list of winners mentioning names like Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Britt Baker, Taz and Excalibuer, who won Announcer of The Year. Conrad mentioned that Tony came in third right behind Taz.
“I didn’t even realize that,” he said regarding his ranking.
“Anyway congratulations to everybody. I’m very, very proud to be a part of it and I really am excited really for a lot of people,” Tony added, before giving three names he was really happy for: his partner in crime, Britt Baker, who won “Most Improved,” his commentator in crime in Taz, who won “Best Non-Wrestler” and Eddie Kingston who won “Promo Of The Year.”
“Obviously I’m excited for my buddy Britt who legitimately we are friends. I’m excited for Taz who we give a lot of shit to, but I’m really excited for Eddie Kingston because of where he came from and there ya go. So there ya go, we move on and maybe we’ll have a great 2021. Who knows?”
