Deonna Purrazzo wants to be the first Knockout to represent IMPACT Wrestling in the groundbreaking talent exchange with All Elite Wrestling.
Purrazzo, the current IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, spoke with the All Night Long Wrestling Podcast ahead of Sacrifice on Saturday. Purrazzo was asked about the “forbidden door” allowing AEW, IMPACT and New Japan talent to cross paths, and she said the women haven’t had that chance yet but she wants to be first in line.
“I have not been shy about wanting to be the first woman through this ‘forbidden door’. The forbidden door, I want to be the first woman through it. That can be me going to AEW, that can be Hikaru Shida coming to IMPACT Wrestling, that can be my best friend Britt Baker coming to IMPACT Wrestling,” Purrazzo said, “it can be Big Swole coming to Impact Wrestling.”
“I think what IMPACT and AEW are doing is groundbreaking. This partnership has changed landscape of professional wrestling, and I, being a women’s wrestler, I went to advocate for women’s wrestling to be a part of it. So, if there’s ever a need for Shida, for a competitor,” Purrazzo said, “I raise my hand to be the first one in line. I will shove my way to front of the line to this forbidden door for women to be part of incredible, history-making thing we’re doing.”
