Tony Khan: Our ‘Hall Of Fame Worthy’ Tease Isn’t In The Revolution Ladder Match, But ‘He’ Will Sign A Multi-Year Deal

Tony Khan shed some more light on who Paul Wight was teasing on Dynamite this week and says fans can expect at least two surprises on Sunday.

Khan was on this week’s episode of AEW Unrestricted and confirmed that Wight’s announcement of a “Hall Of Fame worthy” debut at Revolution is true. He noted that this person (“he”) will sign a multi-year deal, and it’s not the mystery sixth participant in the “Face Of The Revolution” ladder match.

“He told the world, and it’s true, that there’s going to be a big star signed with AEW. He’s coming here and it’s absolutely true what Paul said, this Sunday, a major star in the world of wrestling. A huge star is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW on Sunday at the pay-per-view. So, I can confirm what Paul said is true—and I’m not talking about the person in the ladder match. I’m talking about—we have a fun sixth person in the ladder match,” Khan said, “but the person that I’m saying is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW, the person that Paul referenced, that’s not the sixth person in the ladder match.”

Cody Rhodes, Max Caster, Scorpio Sky, Penta El Zero Miedo and Lance Archer are confirmed participants in the ladder match on Sunday, but the mystery sixth competitor will be announced at the pay-per-view.

AEW Dynamite saw NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal get splashed through ringside tables by Cody Rhodes. This week’s TNT broadcast also saw Darby Allin, Sting, Chris Jericho, MJF, the Young Bucks, and more put in their ‘go-home’ hype for Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view. Former WWE superstar Paul Wight debuted on ‘Dynamite’ and teased a “Hall of Fame worthy” name that would make his presence known at Sunday’s Face of the Revolution Ladder Match.

On USA Network this week, NXT Champion Finn Balor jumped the gun on a title match with his foe Adam Cole and demanded the match take place next week on the weekly WWE TV series. Balor headlined this week’s NXT against the now-former Undisputed Era member Roderick Strong in a thrilling fight that pushed the show into an overrun segment. WWE official Adam Pearce used ‘screwjob’ shenanigans to rob NXT’s Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez of a possible WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship win over Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
