Madison Rayne announced her retirement tonight during the IMPACT Wrestling Hard to Kill pre-show.
The news comes after it was reported last week that Rayne would be taking a job outside of professional wrestling. In her place, IMPACT Wrestling debuted a new commentary team at Hard to Kill composed of Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown. Her husband Josh Matthews will stay with the company as its Senior Producer.
In her retirement message, Rayne said that she was ready to go home and be a wife and mom. “I want to take some time to address some speculation as it should come from me and no one else. … It is with a full and grateful heart that after 12 years I announce my official retirement from IMPACT Wrestling,” she said. “It is time for me, the wrestler Madison Rayne, to go home now and be a wife and a mom and to move on with my life. I am leaving this division in the best possible hands.”
