Abadon was injured in a match taped for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and now it looks like the match won’t air at all.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, her match against Tay Conti match will not air as planned and will be replaced by a different match. Meltzer confirmed a new match was taped after the injury took place, and it will “likely” feature Shawn Spears as one of the competitors.
This weekend, Meltzer reported she was injured after she took a stiff elbow strike to the throat and was unable to breathe for an extended period of time afterward. The match was immediately stopped so that she could receive quick medical care from a local facility but she is expected to make a full recovery.
Abadon made her All Elite Wrestling debut in March, and had won five consecutive matches in appearances on both AEW Dark and Dynamite since then.
