While Kingston attempted to distract Moxley and help out his choice, Moxley was simply the more talented man in the ring. The Butcher showed heart by working out of a tight armbar and targeting Moxley’s knee throughout the battle, but never came all that close to gaining AEW gold for the first time in his career.

The end of the AEW World Championship match came after Moxley hit a jumping piledriver for a two count. After a crossbody from the Butcher, Moxley would regain his composure and lock Butcher in a bulldog choke that forced a tap from the challenger.
