Hours before WWE Clash of Champions, two matches on the the pay-per-view are reportedly facing significant changes. According to John Pollock of POST Wrestling, the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship will not proceed as scheduled. “The SmackDown women’s title match between Bayley and Nikki Cross will not be taking place,” Pollock wrote. “It is expected that there will be a replacement for Nikki Cross on the show.”
Pollock notes how Cross was absent on this past week of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The second match affected by these changes might not be on the show at all. “The other match affected is the WWE women’s tag title match where Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax were supposed to defend the titles against Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan,” wrote Pollock. “This match we were told is “off.”‘” Pollock states that both situations will be addressed on-air during the show.
The report doesn’t provide a reason for the changes to these matches, but WrestleZone will provide updates as they become available. To see how these matches are handled, tune in for WWE Clash of Champions Kickoff at 6 pm Eastern and the main show at 7.
