NWA World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa faced Ivelisse on AEW Dynamite last week, and the match stood out for the wrong reasons. Many fans noticed that the two competitors didn’t seem to be cohesively working together the way wrestlers typically do. It was clear that both women were hitting each other with stiff strikes. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful added some validity to those observations. Per his report, Rosa worked extra stiff in the match once Ivelisse started no-selling. Rosa and Ivelisse reportedly clashed before the match, and rumor has it that Rosa’s status as the NWA World Women’s Champion played a role in her actions. “Rosa is said to take the perception of NWA seriously, and didn’t want them looking bad in the situation.,” wrote Ross Sapp. Now that several days have passed, reports of the AEW locker room’s reaction have surfaced.
“Since the publication of this article, we’ve heard some support for Rosa from the AEW locker room, though many were uncomfortable as the match progressed,” wrote Ross Sapp. “One person told us that they were surprised that by the time the show aired, that next week’s booked match featuring them both wasn’t completely edited of the broadcast and changed.”
Rosa and Ivelisse will face off in a tag team match this week on AEW Dynamite in a tag team match featuring Hikaru Shida and Diamante.
