George Kittle is stylin’ and profilin’ after signing a new five-year, $75 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers last week and he got a call from Ric Flair to cap it all off.
Kittle, star football player and well-known wrestling fan, was on 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Show” on Wednesday for an interview when Flair called in to congratulate him on the occasion. Kittle initially thought Flair had recorded his greeting and Kittle said thank you to the team for putting it together, then realized they were live on the air and couldn’t believe it, noting how incredible it was that he was on live with Flair.
The crew told Kittle he could ask Flair anything he wanted, and he asked what Flair’s favorite promo was before they started talking about Iowa football and the 49ers coaching staff before Flair jokingly shared some financial advice.
“Stay married. That $15 million can go real fast if you get divorced. I know a lot about marriage!”
They pair also started talking about Flair’s favorite match and Kittle’s potential as a wrestler, and Flair praised Kittle’s physical talent as well as his charisma.
“George has a lot of charisma. Aside from being a good athlete, George has a lot of charisma,” Flair said. “When you take that and it equals his ability, I haven’t seen somebody that brings that much to the table since Deion [Sanders] was there. It’s exciting for us. It’s one thing to be great, which George, you are, but it’s another thing to know how to market it and you’re doing a good job of doing that.”
Flair closed the segment by repeating his marriage advice, noting Kittle should stay married so he “can limousine ride and jet fly forever.”
