It wasn’t a perfect debut for the team as The Butcher & The Blade, who have been far from tag title contenders, gave the pair plenty of trouble as they used their size to overpower the former WWE tag champs. However, FTR’s craftiness is unparalleled and that kept them alive in the match.
A Shatter Machine, which is now being called the Goodnight Express, would eventually change the tides of the match and then a spiked piledriver called the Mindbreaker won the match for them.
After the match, FTR called All Elite Wrestling the “pinnacle of wrestling,” and the Young Bucks came out to introduce themselves. The Executive Vice Presidents said they’re the best tag team in AEW, despite never holding the belts, and then offered a handshake to FTR. Butcher would then attack them alongside Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. After champions Hangman Page and Kenny Omega came out to clear the ring, there was a tense staredown between the three teams.
