UPDATE: Satin is now agreeing with Sapp’s report and saying Gulak’s contract expired.
While sources initially told me Gulak was released, I'm now being told it would appear as though his contract expired. The article has been updated to reflect that. https://t.co/YQgzG4Ti1k

Just one day after competing in the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament, Drew Gulak has been released.
Word started to spread earlier today after he was removed from WWE.com’s active superstars section and put in the alumni. Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed with sources that Gulak is no longer employed by WWE. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp says that Gulak’s “contract was coming due or expired and he chose not to re-sign.”
Gulak has been a regular on SmackDown as of late as he became Daniel Bryan’s coach. He lost to Bryan in a great match just one night ago in his WWE farewell.
