Cody Rhodes came into his AEW Revolution match against MJF with some new ink as he got a patriotic tattoo on his neck.

The match itself featured plenty of dramatic action as MJF got opened up and bloodied. There was constant interference outside from both Wardlow and Brandi Rhodes, which led to a sequence where Rhodes accidentally kicked Arn Anderson in the face while trying to knock out MJF’s bodyguard. Rhodes even got dirty and hit a low blow (evening the score with MJF) and hit a vertebreaker. Refereeing was extremely lenient as Rhodes was allowed to hit MJF with his weight belt twice without being disqualified.
What a suplex to the outside!

After this exchange, MJF appeared to cry and hugged Cody. However, he spit in his face after the two had some distance. Rhodes then hit two Cross Rhodes and went for a third when MJF managed to get out of it. One hit of MJF’s AEW Dynamite Diamond ring knocked out Cody and MJF got the pin as a result.
