The sons of Haku regained the belts from Finlay & Robinson, having lost the belt to the World Tag League winners on January 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Finlay & Robinson held the belts for 21 days. There were reportedly shenanigans involved in the finish, so it will likely not be the last time that the two teams battle for the titles this year.
Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa are now in their sixth reign with the titles, and are the 85th champions overall. They were recently on the Super Bowl’s Radio Row in Miami, where the Tongans were the de facto faces of NJPW.
