Report On What Brock Lesnar Said To Matt Riddle During Backstage Confrontation At Royal Rumble

One of the big newsworthy items coming out of Royal Rumble weekend was Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle‘s reported confrontation that went down backstage at Houston. Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported word of such happening and talkSPORT out of U.K. is confirming the occurrence, but has additional details on the matter.

According to Alex McCarthy of  talkSPORT  who happened to be on-site for the Rumble event and according to a WWE official, was told that the confrontation went down as follows:

Lesnar approached Riddle and put a hand on The Bro’s shoulder before telling him, “Kid, you might as well stop saying my name and tagging me in sh*t because you and I will never work together. Ever.”

Riddle was said to have kept his cool and did have some comments for Brock, but Lesnar just kept on walking, not wanting to hear anything Riddle had to say.

McCarthy follows up by saying talkSPORT was told that Riddle’s short time and unceremonious elimination from the Rumble Match was not a consequence of his confrontation with Lesnar, but it was a matter that was always planned for the bout.

Report: Brock Lesnar And Matt Riddle Got Into Verbal Altercation Before Royal Rumble PPV

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin has since stated the above quote attributed to Lesnar was the same thing he was told as well. It’s worth noting that there’s been some speculation about the incident being a work. McCarthy responded to feedback on social media and said it may have been arranged, but neither Lesnar nor Riddle were told what to say.

The Lesnar incident seems similar to Riddle’s encounter with Goldberg at Summerslam last year, which ended up being recorded and aired at a later date. Riddle has since posted the following on Twitter, likely alluding to the report about his latest confrontation.
