The Wrestling Oberver’s Dave Meltzer is reporting more on Io Shirai and the injury she sustained on NXT this past week. It is being reported that Io Shirai is expected to be out of action for the next two months.
Shirai tweaked her knee in a match with Toni Storm and posted the following on Twitter regarding the injury.
Shirai was rumored to be getting a call up to the main roster soon amid speculation that she was thinking of not resigning with WWE when her contract expires. Japan promotion Stardom has high hopes of possibly securing Io Shirai and they apparently also have their eyes set on Kairi Sane. It will be interesting to see how this injury affects any momentum Io had with NXT.
