On the latest episode of New Day: Feel The Power, former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston revealed that he recently signed a new five-year contract with WWE. The long-tenured Kofi has been with WWE since his developmental days in 2006, so the signing doesn’t come as a real surprise.
Kofi announced the extension as he was talking about injuries with Xavier Woods, who is recovering from an Achilles injury at the moment. Kofi states that he’s still able to wrestle, but he’s starting to feel the wear and tear. “When I go to play with my kids, we go to an indoor sports facility. I can’t run down the field.” He states that running around the ring works fine because of the slow area, but he can no longer sprint to grab a ball.
Despite that fact, Kofi confirms that he’ll be with the company for another half-decade. “I’m not done. I just signed another five-year contract. Who knows what my body is gonna be like in those five years.”
