AAA has announced several key matches for Invading NY, the big New York event taking place on Sunday, September 15. Among the stars competing is MMA superstar Cain Velasquez, who is making his United States wrestling debut in a six-man tag match. Other contests include a Reina de Reinas AAA Championship match and the Lucha Bros defending the AAA World Tag Team Championship after defending them at AEW All Out.
Dorian Roldán, Director General of Lucha Libre AAA, shared this quote about the upcoming event.

- Tessa Blanchard (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie for the Reina de Reinas AAA Championship
- Lucha Bros. (c) vs. LAX for the Campeonato de Parejas AAA Championship
- Texano Jr., Taurus and Scorpion King vs. Brian Cage, Psycho Clown and Cain Velasquez
- Blue Demon Jr. vs. Dr. Wagner Jr.
AAA is partnering with IMPACT to promote the event and provide guest wrestlers for the card. AAA previously announced Invading NY as their Madison Square Garden debut, but the show has since moved to the smaller Hulu Theather inside The Garden. The move was reportedly due to lower than expected ticket sales for the event.
