Two of Ring of Honor’s most notable names may soon have big decisions to make. As reported by the Wrestling Observer newsletter, current ROH Champion Matt Taven and Villain Enterprises frontman Marty Scurll both have contracts that end soon. Taven’s contract ends in September, as first reported by PWInsider and confirmed by the observer. Ring of Honor officials are in negotiations with Taven and he’s expected to stay with the company.
Marty Scurll’s contract is up in November. While he’s also in talks about staying, there’s a lot of interest coming from All Elite Wrestling. WWE has also shown interest in the past, and it’s unclear where he’ll land in the end. All three promotions seem like viable candidates according to the report.
The Observer also notes that various other ROH stars are all on one-year deals. This includes PCO, Rush, Jeff Cobb, and Bandito. While some of these stars might stay with the promotion due to its current connections with New Japan, the Ring of Honor roster seems to be in a state of flux. It may look radically different in 2020 if moves are made.
