Former-IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Switchblade” Jay White defeated 2x G1 Climax winner Tetsuya Naito on Sunday to win the B Block of the 29th annual G1 Climax. He will meet Kota Ibushi on Monday in the G1 Climax Finals.
Kota Ibushi defeated IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada on Saturday to advance. Ibushi advanced to last year’s finals, only to lose to Hiroshi Tanahashi. This will mark Jay White’s first time in the G1 Climax Finals.
White attacked Ibushi’s already injured ankle after his win on Sunday, leaving him with an early advantage headed into Monday’s bout.
Jay White vs. Kota Ibushi will take place Monday. The show will air LIVE on NJPWWorld.com at 2am ET.
