When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson speaks, people tend to tune in to hear what he has to say – whether it be about professional wrestling, his acting career, or quite literally anything else. During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the multi-time world champion spoke about a topic that is always going to interest the WWE Universe: the future of the business.
Johnson was asked about who he believes will be the next big star in the company, following in the footsteps of himself and John Cena. While he initially struggled to come up with a name, he eventually ‘selected’ Drew McIntyre as his answer. The former NXT Champion has been on a gradual rise up through the ranks of WWE since returning two years ago, and now, it looks like he’s getting closer and closer to invading the main event scene.
Drew went on to thank The Rock for his kind words, as opposed to remaining in character. Even after he did that, though, we’d still be really intrigued to see what would happen if these two guys ever decided to throw down in the squared circle.

“I know that a lot of guys are working really hard. I spend a lot of time with Roman. Just now spent the past week with him and we were talking about who has potential and who doesn’t. Personally, I like Drew McIntyre. Great look, great build and especially as he continues to hone in on his craft and connect with his audience which is the most important thing.”
In all the conversation about the biggest movie of the Summer, I appreciate such high praise from The Great One. We could all learn a thing or two from his work ethic, “All it takes is all you got” @TheRock #HobbsAndShaw https://t.co/c8sJs6DCYZ
