Update: A source speaking with Wrestlezone has confirmed details included in the initial report by PWInsider.
A second source (independent of the first) has also confirmed the accuracy of the original story.
As initially reported by PWInsider, Billy Corgan’s iteration of the National Wrestling Alliance will split away from Ring of Honor going forward. The two companies initially formed a partnership with the revival of the Crockett Cup earlier this year. NWA Champion Nick Aldis has been pulled from the Ring of Honor Summer Supercard in Toronto and NWA Vice President Dave Lagana will no longer be working backstage at ROH.
As for the future, Billy Corgan plans on working towards a weekly standalone NWA show later this year once he finishes touring with the Smashing Pumpkins. ROH stable Villain Enterprises currently hold the NWA Tag Team Titles, but that shouldn’t cause an issue. According to sources, the two organizations split amicably and they are willing to partner again in the future.
