Paul Heyman Makes Surprise Appearance At EVOLVE 131
Paul Heyman made a surprise appearance during tonight’s EVOLVE 10th Anniversary show, where he came out to introduce Austin Theory and JD Drake. With the two superstars taking part in a Winner Takes All match for the EVOLVE and World Wrestling Network Championships, Heyman praised both superstars, and said they were going to love the match.
For a full breakdown on the moment, check out below, and make sure to follow along with our coverage of the event:
Bryan Idol comes out for ring introductions, but the lights go out. They come back up and Paul Heyman is in the ring and gets a massive ‘ECW’ and ‘holy shit’ chant. Heyman introduces himself and gets a ‘welcome back’ chant too, then says it’s an honor and privilege to be home. He says wasn’t invited, but rather he asked to be there. He wants to take this all in first-hand, and says tonight will serve as a sign the business really has evolved. He sticks around to serve as ring announcer for the Winner Takes All match between Austin Theory and JD Drake.

Austin Theory Wins WWN Belt
After Heyman’s introduction of the match, Theory came away as the winner, taking away the World Wrestling Network title and becoming a dual champion tonight. After the match, however, Josh Briggs came out to interrupt the celebration, and delivered a beating to the newly crowned champion. From the looks of things, it seems as if Theory already has a challenger for the titles, and Briggs could pose a big threat.
