Kofi Kingston talked backstage after his victory on SmackDown this past Tuesday about his upcoming cage match with Dolph Ziggler. The “Showoff” continues to claim that Kofi’s title reign has been a fluke that is held up by support from other members of The New Day. Kofi mentions the two’s storied history but assures him that he is mistaken.
I have a huge amount of respect for Dolph Ziggler, and I knew that he just lost his way. But now, him saying that I’m nothing without the New Day? Saying that I don’t deserve this? Now I know he’s lost his mind.
Kofi is confident that he’ll be able to fend off Ziggler thanks to the cage stipulation, which will double as a way to prove that he can make it without assistance from Big E and Xavier Woods.
