It’s been nine months since we got our first taste of Daniel Cormier vs Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, but ever since then, it seems as if the fate of the potential fight has gone in a few different directions. Last night, after an incredible UFC 236 event in Atlanta, UFC president Dana White provided an update on the current status of the potential showdown.

“The Cormier/Lesnar rumours weren’t true that I had something done. That was never true. I’ve been talking about how that’s the fight that Cormier wants. Brock Lesnar wants to come back – I don’t know when and when we’ll get it done. Daniel Cormier has done everything we’ve ever asked of him. He’s been a great champion and he’s an incredible ambassador for the sport. If he wants the Brock Lesnar fight, why shouldn’t he get the Brock Lesnar fight? He wants to fight Lesnar. I don’t know when, but Brock lets me know when he’s ready.”
