WWE may be preparing for the Superstar Shake-Up, but they’re not the only promotion with big moves after WrestleMania weekend. Joshi promotion Stardom will have the Stardom Draft this Sunday, but at least one star won’t be preparing for new challenges.
Mayu Iwatani, the former Women of Honor Champion who recently lost her belt at GI Supercard, is suffering from a knee injury. According to Stardom’s official Twitter feed, she’ll be out for an indeterminate amount of time following the draft to allow for a better recovery.

Mayu took to Twitter herself to explain the situation to her fans. According to Twitter’s translation, she states that “too hard to walk” and that she was happy to have the opportunity to wrestle at Madison Square Garden before taking time off.

Mayu Iwatani is also a current Artist of Stardom Champion alongside Saki Kashima and Tam Nakano. There’s no word on whether that belt will be vacated because of Iwatani’s haitus from the ring.
