Stephanie McMahon waited a few days to express her interest in Rob Gronkowski coming to the WWE, but the company’s Chief Branding Officer finally made the pitch out to the recently retired New England Patriot. McMahon went on Twitter to congratulate Gronk on receiving the USO-Metro’s Merit Award, but she also wished him the best in his life after football and made note to mention that “the doors are always open” to WWE.
Congratulations @RobGronkowski, this is a tremendous honor by one of my favorite organizations, @USOMetroDC, dedicate to serve those who serve and their families. Thank you for all that you do and good luck with your retirement! Doors are always open @WWE! :))) https://t.co/nLYssgCJdV

Also appearing at the event was his old Maryland teammate Mojo Rawley, Braun Strowman & Mickie James.
Gronkowski officially retired from the NFL on Monday and there has been much speculation as to what’s next for the former tight end. Gronkowski made a notable appearance at WrestleMania 33 to aid his good buddy in winning The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. With him being close friends with Rawley, going to WWE would seem like a smooth transition if Gronkowski decided to head in that direction.
