His thoughts on Bill Demott:
I’m not going to say a bad thing about Bill Demott. You know why? I said he made my life a living hell, but did I complain about that? Bro, I was in the WWE. When you join Fight Club, you don’t talk about Fight Club. Things that happened in NXT, good, bad or indifferent, they molded me into who I am. Whether I can say a good thing or bad thing, how about I don’t say anything about him. He was there and that’s all I need to say.
His debut promo:
I’ve been told that I was going to be fired. They want me to go out there, do the job, and then I’ll be fired from NXT. I go out to the ring and am told to stand there. They play this terrible techno music and an Italian flag goes on the big screen. I get handed a microphone and I don’t even know who I am fighting. I go, “My name is Enzo Amore. I look up and down this roster and I just see a bunch of fake tough guys that I like to call Fugazi. Everyone’s real until a real situation shows up. Everyone is a G until a real G walks into the room. Bada boom. Realest guy in the room. How you doin’?” Then I get murdered by Mason Ryan.
How he got support from John Cena early on:
When John Cena was backstage [at NXT], all the boys stood up and clapped for me when I debuted because they knew that Bill Demott hated me and I had a microphone and I was about to kill it. They all stood up as a fuck you since they were working on getting Bill Demott fired. There was a whole conspiracy going on with a letter. This caught John Cena’s attention and he asked, “Who is this guy>” Tyler Breeze put me over and said, “Bro. You’ve go to see him and his tag team partner.” I do this shtick and John Cena stands up and goes, “Bada boom! Realest guy in the room!”
I come through the curtain and Bill Demott says that I did a terrible job. I thought it was all over for me. Then [Rob Naylor] runs up to me and goes, “John Cena stood up and lost it. He wants to meet you right now.” I run back there, shake his hand. He goes, “I’ve been here for four tapings and you are the only thing that has caught my attention. Great job.”
Me and Big Cass go down and sit with John Cena. He goes, “How fast can you get your ring gear on? I want you to go out during the dark segment and cut a promo on Damien Sandow if you’re cool with that.” Big Cass runs over, he’s doing push-ups, getting oiled up. We get out to the curtain and Big Cass is so nervous as the crowd hadn’t seen him. We go out there, I introduce myself and I say to Damien Sandow, who is a genius and the intellectual savior of the masses, “I’m a certified G and a bonafide stud. You can’t teach that. You see this guy? He’s 7-feet-tall and you can’t teach that. You think you are a smart guy … but you are s-a-w-f-t sawft!” The whole crowd starts going, “Sawft!”
