Despite IMPACT Wrestling announcing earlier today that Eli Drake would take on Tessa Blanchard in an intergender match at the promotion’s co-promoted show with Lucha Underground, United We Stand. However, Drake has come out and said that won’t be the case.
After a fan tweeted that they weren’t a fan of such matches due to them breaking “the immersion of wrestling” for them, Drake chimed in. “You couldn’t have hit the nail more directly on the head,” said the IMPACT star.” “I have amazing respect for IMPACT Wrestling and Tessa Blanchard, and can see that she is likely the greatest female talent in wrestling today. Although that said, I will not participate in a one on one intergender match.”
