AJ Styles would beat The Miz in the main event of SmackDown, but a vicious attack from Daniel Bryan leaves him wounded to close the show.
The WWE Champion would watch the match from ringside as Styles looked to avenge the earlier attack by Miz. Bryan would try to distract Styles, but it was all in vain as Styles would make Miz submit to the Calf Crusher. Bryan would immediately go on the attack, chop blocking the left knee of Styles multiple times and locking in a heel hook, which looks to be his new finisher. WWE officials would try to break up the assault, but Bryan wouldn’t let up with the stomps or chop blocks.

He took a break to demand the announcer to say his name as “The New Daniel Bryan” and to acknowledge that the crowd is fickle for not approving of his actions. He would continue to attack Styles until SmackDown went off the air, desperate that Styles won’t make TLC 100%.
