I have to say off the bat this is honestly one of Finn’s best figures to date and I’ll even tell you how to make it better!

The Packaging

Finn has the 2019 style packaging as this set is expected to mass release early 2019, but of course you can get it now on Ringside if desired. He’s part of this new “Best Of” type series from Mattel called WWE Top Picks, which shockingly only really has one re-release in it, Braun Strowman, but he now has changeable hands. Anyway, the mostly white packaging is really nice as it’s very clean for display purposes if you keep them mint. You can see him in a standard pose due to the lack of posing in his jacket as well as the swappable open hands as seen in the image above. The back has a large image of Finn as well as stats and info about him. Also in the set is AJ Styles, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

The Head Scan

Finn’s scan is easily his best yet. This is due to their True FX technology that really captures the likeness much better as well as provides so much more detail to the paint. You can see the fade in his hair to the detail in his facial hair. It looks just like him compared to all his other figures honestly. Mattel really knocked it out of the park.

The Jacket

The jacket is great for display, but a huge pain to remove. This is the biggest downfall to the figure really, especially since he comes with his open hands and is meant to be posed like he is in the image above. The back features the rainbow Bálor Club logo, too. To combat this you can get custom made jackets for him from Thread Head Custom Clothing. They should have jackets available for purchase next week and you can order from them here. The cloth jacket really improves the figure’s posing for display and play. The back does have the logo as well.

The Attire

The attire is simple as it’s finally a non-exclusive release of Finn without his demon makeup. Many people who missed out on the older Ringside exclusive are thrilled to see this one now. He has the logos on his trunks, both front and back, as well as the rainbow designs on his knee pads and kick pads. He also has his black wrist tape.

The Articulation

The articulation is great on Finn. He has the typical Elite articulation but none of it is restricted once the jacket is removed. The knee pads don’t prevent any movement, which is great. Not to mention his hands are easy to swap, just be slow pulling the hands out as the pegs are small and can break if not careful.

Overall

The WWE Top Picks Elite Finn Bálor is awesome and definitely for everyone. No question it’s Finn’s best non-demon attired figure to date. The scan is tremendous and the detail is nice, too. The jacket is the only negative aspect as mentioned but if you pick one up from Thread Head you’ll be very satisfied as that’s how the figure should really look. Cloth goods always improve the figures in my opinion. You can get him currently on Ringside if you do not want to wait, so don’t miss out on the opportunity!
