During the open of SmackDown Live in Manchester, commissioner Shane McMahon and general manager Paige were in the ring to announce the men’s singles and tag team captains. McMahon, with the WWE World Cup trophy in tow, feels that his brand is in a must-win situation and named both Daniel Bryan and The Miz as co-captains to the blue brand team, with additional members to be added later in the night. Bryan and The Miz were reluctant to co-exist with one another, but both agreed to nominate Shane as a part of the team.

Bryan and Miz have been engaged in a bitter feud that lasted throughout the summer and both still feel that they are the rightful contenders for the WWE Championship. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic will work going into Survivor Series.
