Many fans were surprised at how different WWE Evolution seemed despite Vince McMahon being in gorilla position. Well, now the differences make more sense as PWInsider have revealed several backstage details about the recent pay-per-view event.
First off, the typical stage and lighting rig were in Charlotte for Monday Night RAW. For that reason, WWE had to make the show look differently, so they chose to give WWE Evolution a different look so it wouldn’t look like a lesser version of what regular events get. The production team was also different as the NXT crew worked the event as the regular crew was in North Carolina. As such, Kevin Dunn was not at the event and didn’t direct the show.
Finally, while Vince McMahon was in the gorilla position it’s said that he just “observed the event,” and arrived right before it began. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were also at the gorilla position “for the majority of the PPV.”
