Saturday night, NXT takes over Brooklyn for the third straight year. With Bobby Roode leading the way, this card is all about the future of NXT and could include some history changing outcomes. Undefeated streaks are on the line, as well as egos and championships. This article is going to preview the five matches that will happen in the Barclays Center Saturday night.
Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas
With the injury to Tomasso Ciampa, NXT needed Johnny Wrestling to compete for his first singles match at NXT Takeover no matter who it was. He gets Almas, who has competed on many Takeover events with only one win against Tye Dillinger. He has been the solid performer that lost to Bobby Roode, Roderick Strong and Aleister Black over the past year and looks to be the guy to put over Johnny Gargano once again.
If I am WWE, I tease an interaction with Tomasso Ciampa to distract Johnny Gargano. Give Andrade Cien Almas the win and his manager celebrate in victory over a fan favorite. It gives even more heat to Almas and Vega, lets Gargano and Ciampa continue their feud and let the next month or two really develop an out of the ring feud with the former #DIY members. A long burn to their match is definite and it does not matter if Johnny Gargano loses on Saturday.
