But not Stevie Ray. Stevie was a man’s man, as was his younger brother Booker T. In my dealings with Booker T, back then, he was a bit different than Stevie because when Stevie was upset with something you knew it. Booker? Booker just always had a smile on his face no matter what. Yes, he somehow managed to grin ear-to-ear, even when his own colleagues were keeping him from greatness.
Behind the scenes, we all loved “Book”. We loved him because he was a company guy through and through. But, I’m not going to lie to you, we also loved him because he was a joy to work with when many others were just miserable pricks. One day, during the course of a creative meaning, I’d say there were about 6-7 of us in the room, I asked the question, “If we changed the WCW World Title today, and you could put it on anyone in the locker room, who would it be?” I went around the room and one-by-one every single person said Booker T. There was no one else nominated. With this overwhelming response, I then turned to the room and asked the question, “Well, what’s stopping us?”
