The Ascension defeated The New Age Outlaws
Viktor and Billy start things off and Gunn hits a shoulder block and a hip toss. Road Dogg hits a kick, but the young guys get going. Konnor hits some kicks in the corner and then Dogg hits his vintage punches and a knee drop. Konnor squashed Road Dogg and Viktor comes back in to do some of the dirty work. Road Dogg reverses a body slam and lands on Konnor. Viktor continues the assault on Dogg and Billy gets the tag. He hits some big punches and tosses Konnor to the outside. Tilt-a-Whirl slam and a missed Fameasser. The Ascension hits Fall of Man for the win.
Underwhelming. The Ascension pick up a much needed win, but they really did not do much offensive aside from some sleeper holds and their finisher. What is it about them that is missing the boat right now? They need to have more to offer. Why can’t we get that tonight, when all of the eyes were on them. This was about 7-8 minutes, maybe. It was not bad by any means, but Billy Gunn was the shining star. THAT is a problem.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
The Miz and Jey Uso kick off the second tag team match of the night. Jimmy blind tags himself and then hits a double axe smash for a two count. After a few chops, Miz hits a clothesline into the corner. He goes up top and gets rung up. Mizdow shadows Miz and then Miz gets hit with a chop from the top. Mizdow continues to be the stunt double. Jimmy gets thrown into the ropes and looks to have taken a nasty bump. Miz reverses Jimmy and Jimmy gets taken down with a backbreaker/neckbreaker combination. Mizdow wants the tag and Miz mocks him. Jey gets a tag.
Jey hits some chops and then a big clothesline. Samoan Drop and shades of Rikishi into the corner. Miz grabs the tights and gets a two count. Miz kicks him in the knee and then hits a DDT. Jey misses a kick and then connects on the second one. Miz stops Jey from hitting a splash and then both men fly over the top rope. Jey misses a splash and then hits SCF, but Jey is able to kick out. Jey hits a stiff kick and then connects with a splash. Mizdow saves the match for his teammate. He throws Jimmy into the corner and then hits Skull Crushing Finale. Another near fall and this match continues. Miz heads up top and Jey Uso fights out of it with a headbutt. He kicks Mizdow and Miz punches away. Jimmy kicks Miz and then a powerbomb and splash from the top gives The Uso’s the victory.
Although there were a few missed spots, not terrible, but Jimmy and Jey retain. The split of Miz and Mizdow is very near and could happen by the end of the night. The action was fun and was very energetic. Jimmy and Jey continue to be the best and most consistent tag team in the WWE. It was not their best match, but was still a good one. Mizdow added some nice comedy, but got serious when he needed to. This was a really well scripted match.
