Title This: 2/13 Impact Wrestling Reaction “Bully Ray At His Best”

The Undercard

impact wrestling reactionEthan Carter vs. Gunner ended in a No Contest when both briefcases were on the line. Gunner hit a beautiful powerbomb and started climbing the ladder. Magnus came out and interfered, which caused a disqualification. James Storm came out and made the save for Gunner. MVP came out and set up a tag team match. Ethan Carter connects with an elbow drop and throws Gunner outside. Magnus cuts him off and says it is his time to climb the ladder. Magnus and EC3 start to argue and Storm connects with a clothesline. As the end of the match is near, Carter climbs the ladder and Gunner stops him with a side slam and a diving head butt. Gunner heads to the top and grabs both ladders.

I enjoyed the match, but it seemed confusing as to why Magnus would want to grab the briefcase as champion. I would have much rather seen someone else in the match aside from Magnus because he needs to focus on Samoa Joe. Let that feud work for a while and have Gunner waiting in the shadows. TNA tries to give too many guys the same feud. Simplify it and let Ethan Carter shine in this match with Gunner.

The Wolves and Samoa Joe defeated BroMans and Zema Ion in a really good match. The Wolves are excellent, there is no doubt about it. Davey and Eddie have such chemistry and fast motion with one another that there is little room for error. Jessie hits a press slam and Robbie E comes in with a headlock. Davey is able to hit a dropkick onto both guys and knock them down. The hot tag is made to Samoa Joe, who does his best John Cena impersonation. He cleans house and makes Ion tap out. Joe got the hot tag and the crowd loved it. The Wolves debuted against the champions, who still put on an excellent showing in a losing effort. I see a win/win situation from this outcome. It benefited everyone involved.

MVP squashes Rockstar Spud. I want to see MVP wrestle, but he needs to have different moves from what he had in WWE. He hit the same three moves he did for years. He needs to evolve and have a new finisher, a new skill set and re-create himself in TNA. As for an "investor" role, does his gear really fit what kind of character he is trying to be? It is the little things that they need to do to really sell this for me. I am still optimistic.

Chris Sabin defeated Velvet Sky when a new Knockout debuted. Sabin is saved by a massive woman, blonde hair who looks like she came straight out of "Orange is the New Black." She beats down Sky and has Sabin pin her. She puts Sabin on her shoulders to celebrate. Sabin looks like a weasel, in a good way, and this is only going to help his character. Who does Velvet turn to now to save her? There will obviously be someone she asks for help. Aries? Kenny King return? There are two of my choices.
