Welcome to another Wrestlezone Recap, back after last week's holiday absence. This week we're talking about Bray Wyatt, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper at WrestleMania, AJ Styles leaving TNA and a lot more.
Bray Wyatt is the WWE's New Pet Project
Bray Wyatt is considered to be WWE's top project right now. Officials are very high on the Wyatt family leader, and want him to become a top act in the company.
Windham Rotunda is a great example of why you should never give up on a wrestler just because his gimmick sucks. Husky Harris was by all counts, a lost cause, but Bray Wyatt is a completely different animal. He's got loads of character, unlike anything we've ever seen before. One of those truly unique gimmicks that stands alone, ala The Undertaker, or the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. I'm glad WWE sees him as a major part of their future, because he's one of the few reasons I'm tuning into Raw every week these days.
Here's a good question: Is he in line for a Royal Rumble win this year? My gut says no. Maybe by next year he'll be in that position, but Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton just doesn't sell WrestleMania, for my money. I foresee Daniel Bryan playing out the "Daniel Wyatt" character for the next few weeks, maybe even into the Elimination Chamber PPV in February, but we'll ultimately get the blow-off match to their feud in April.
