Dolph ZigglerThe Undercard Part Two

The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler. I expected much more in this match, but it seemed all of the action happened during the commercial break. The Miz continues to struggle being a viable face, but the addition of Ric Flair could really help him. I watch the match and wonder what they are doing with Dolph Ziggler. Does he really benefit from AJ Lee? Does he really need Big E Langston in his corner? I want an opportunity for him to get over by himself because he has the opportunity to be special. Like Michaels did after Sensational Sherry, Ziggler can provide that transition as well. His dropkick was excellent and his show-off gimmick works when he applies submission holds from time to time. You can see the greatness he provides when he focuses on building his character in the ring. I cannot stand the fact that he continues to lose and hold the briefcase. Miz needs something to do, but Ziggler needs victories. Grade: C

Brodus Clay and Sweet T. defeated 3MB. This match was used to see Honkey Tonk Man. There was not much to report on this. I enjoy Tensai much more now and that should be shocking if any of you know or read anything I write. This match sucked, though. It did nothing for anybody and did not benefit the teams. It was a useless 5 minutes. Grade: D

Jack Swagger attacks Legends. Swagger basically targets Hacksaw Jim Duggan, while attacking Sgt. Slaughter and Dusty Rhodes. He was able to get quick heat from attackng legends, but it fell flat for me. I think the biggest problem about this segment is nobody REALLY cared he was attacking these guys. If it was a legend that everyone loved and knew, it may have been better. After the match Del Rio was able to attack him backstage and officials separated him. I enjoyed that aspect because they need to be seen on the same segment almost every single week. There is no reason to separate them, especially with how personal they are trying to make the feud. Alberto Del Rio defeated Wade Barrett. This was a good match that combined Del Rio's technicality and Barrett's rugged physicality. Barrett and Del Rio work very well together, with the chemistry really drawing the crowd in. Barrett was able to break a hold and kick Del Rio in the head. This is where his great skills took over. Barrett brawled Del Rio with kicks and punches until he was able to hit a Winds of Change. Del Rio got back up and made Wade tap out. Once again, I enjoyed the match but HATE Wade losing….AGAIN. Do they really care so little about their mid card champions? Here is a solution… Have World Champions and Contenders in tag matches or in single's matches. I guess that can get old and you need them to continue to look dominant. This could be a perfect time to either have the mid-carders in a stipulation or gimmick match, or even have US and IC Titles united. Just a thought, but what do you think? Grade: B-
