The Undercard
James Storm defeated Kazarian to kick off the night's action inside of the ring. I really enjoyed this match for a few reasons. First off, Storm is in a random but interesting feud with these two guys, Kazarian and Daniels, and is keeping all of them relevant when the picture is crowded elsewhere in TNA. Storm was able to aggressively attack Kazarian quickly and with ease from the get go, but it was Kazarian who was able to keep the fluid pace going. After Storm hits a beautiful Russian leg-sweep, he goes up top and connects with an elbow drop. This did not finish off Kazarian, and Daniels would try to get involved. I love how Storm was built in this match to overcome both men, and makes him look that much stronger. He hits a Last Call on Kazarian from the top rope, and finishes off both men in impressive fashion. This storyline continues to have little meaning, but produces solid matches. Grade: B
Christian York defeated Kid Kash. I think York is a great story, with a unqiue and interesting look. This was not his night, though. When you watched these guys, it seemed like they were in slow motion, not really meshing well together. As York got a good bit of offense in, he tried to be too creative, as he flipped towards the ropes and connected with a kick to Kash's face. Go back and watch this part, because the transition was awful and looked completely awful. I hate to bash a guy, especially because I could never do that, but it was just not executed even nearly as close as it should have been. York continued to get more offense with Kash, and would finally pick up the victory. He is moving onto TNA Genesis, and will be a part of the X Division's new faces. Grade: C-
Hernandez defeated Joey Ryan via Disqualification. This was never really a match, with Ryan getting tossed around the ring by Hernandez until Morgan interfered. This keeps both tag teams feuding, but I was really let down by the lack of creativity. Morgan can be a big player if he is given the opportunity, but it still seems like he and TNA are lost with his gimmick and what they should really do with him. Grade: C-
Mickie James and Miss Tessmacher defeated Tara and Gail Kim in an excellent Knockouts match. My first instinct was that the heels would get over in the match, especially since it seems like Tara continues to be the best overall woman wrestler in the world. I give credit to Gail and Mickie, but Tara works her ass off to continue to adapt with the era, as well as looking the part of a Knockout/Diva. I have always been a huge fan of Tara, and am happy she is getting the push. I agree with the faces getting the victory here, as James and Tessmacher NEED it more. It always seems that the challengers get the better of the champion, and they should in this instance. The match itself had everything you could ask for, with Gail and Tara working on Tessmacher for a good duration of the match. We get a hot tag, and Mickie comes in and cleans house. She hits multiple clotheslines and sends Gail to the outside. James dropkicked Tara, and then connected with a hurricanrana on Gail Kim. James follows up the great transition with a neckbreaker, but Tara breaks it up. Jesse and Tara kiss, and then Tessmacher knocks them both out. Mickie hits her finisher for the win, and wraps up an entertaining tag match on Impact. Well done, bookers. Grade: A-
