First of all, my prediction for this match is simple. It ends in a no contest of some kind. A double DQ finish, maybe?
WWE reportedly has no plans to make this match fit the bill of the actual pay per view and add a gimmick. If this were a "one and done" match with huge hype and build, ala Cena/Rock at Mania, there probably would be a stipulation added. Then again, it probably wouldn't be taking place on this pay per view either.
Vince can't afford to have his most recent investment (and former "legit" fighting superstar!) lose in his first match back. And John Cena's protection policy only applies to full-time WWE superstars that could actually be the future of the company at some point.
Therefore, if anyone loses, it'll be John Cena.
And I would be okay with that.
After going with The Rock to win that all-important match at WrestleMania, I think WWE dropped the ball a little on John Cena's response to losing. They hyped it up all night on the following night's Raw and I bit into it: How will John Cena handle losing to The Rock at WrestleMania 28?
I don't care that he didn't come out and immediately "embrace the hate" or whatever, but losing should have caused more of an emotional response from Cena. Rather, we got the same ol' rising above and losing "the right way".
Now, John Cena is going straight from one high-profiled match to another. He should look at this match with Brock as an opportunity to redeem himself. He should want to win this match as much (if not more) than he wanted to win at 'Mania.
It should be THAT important.
Once that level of meaning is established, he could lose again. The next night on Raw, we'd be asking the same question we did after 'Mania: How will John Cena handle losing again?!
The story shouldn't be "Brock's return to WWE". The story should be written for John Cena. It's cliche, but it's true — he is the one that was still here after Rock left and he'll be the one sticking around after Brock leaves.
Vince should still be protecting John Cena, but not necessarily with victories.
